Notary Services
MLJ Hardin County District Library offers basic notary services to the public at no charge.
No appointment is necessary but we do recommend you call and arrange a time to come in as our notaries also perform other duties for the library and may not have time when you come in. Please call 419.673.2278 to inquire as to when a notary is available.
Please be prepared for your visit with the notary
- Bring valid, government-issued photo ID
- Bring all unsigned documents to be notarized. Documents must be signed in the presence of the notary.
- Have your documents completely filled out EXCEPT for the signature prior to seeing the notary.
- Notary service ends 15 minutes prior to staff leaving for the day (usually 5 pm).
- Laws vary by state and some documents may require witnesses in addition to the notarization. In some cases, a notary public might not be legally allowed to also, simultaneously, act as a signature witness. We may have staff available to witness should you require one (or two) but we recommend you bring your own witness(es) if needed.
